Popcorn Chicken and Celeriac Mash Recipe by Nadine Lloyd


(Serves 4-6)


  • 2 cups corn flour

  • 2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon celery salt

  • ½ teaspoon ground sage leaves

  • ½ teaspoon mixed herbs

  • 2 teaspoons paprika

  • 1 teaspoon oregano

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • Oil for deep frying

  • 500-800g (1.1-1.8lb) chicken breast


In a medium-sized bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together.

Beat the eggs, Worcestershire sauce, and water together.

Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.

Dip the pieces in the egg mixture, and then into the flour mixture.

Deep fry the pieces in batches until golden brown.

Remove and drain on paper towel.

Serve with celeriac mash, corn, grated cheddar cheese, and steaming hot gravy.


Cook the celeriac in the same way as you would mashed potato.
